Living In Crick
When you engage with the Campbells Crick Team you will soon realise that we are a friendly and approachable bunch of property experts who genuinely want to help you.
We are the local estate agents specialising in the sale, rental and management of property in Crick, Yelvertoft, Watford, West Haddon, Winwick, Ashby St Ledgers, Barby, Lilbourne and Elkington.
A lot of clients tell us how daunting it is to call estate agents as some would say we have this reputation for wanting to know everything and asking tons of questions.
We promise we are not like that here at Campbells. The best ways to communicate with us are to pick up the phone, drop us a line or just come in and say hello. We look forward to meeting you.
Crick is a fantastic village that so many people are eager to move into. If you ever visit, make sure you have a good drive around the area. The village has so much character to offer as do the friendly people that live here.
Why not take a walk down the canal and have a coffee at The Moorings whilst you’re here?
Commuting from Crick is amazing with J18 of the M1, the A5, M6 and M45 all being so close.
Mainline rail services are popular with Long Buckby, Rugby or Northampton just a short drive away.
Local shops include a co-op, tthe post office run by Chris and Margaret (lovely people) as well as various other little boutique shops, pubs and restaurants dotted around the village.
There is also an infant school in the heart of the village and for the older ones, there are school buses running from the highly regarded Guilsborough School.
It is unclear where the name Crick comes from. Some believe it was derived from the Celtic word ‘Kreik’ which means rock or cliff, other believe it may have come from the Middle Age term ‘Creic’ which could have been a derivation of creek – i.e a small stream, the original small streams in the area would have provided water for the early settlers.
The history of the village goes all the way back through the times of the Doomsday Book all the way back to the Iron Age!
Remains of Roman history have also been found in the area.
The Leicester Line of The Grand Union Canal runs just around Crick and the Crick Tunnel is 1397m long!
Over the May Bank Holiday the Crick Boat show is a must see and the Crick Scarecrow Weekend in July is a real community treat.
As it stands, Crick has 48 listed buildings within it’s parish, all of which are Grade II listed except for St. Margarets Church which is Grade I.
Crick has a growing population that is now approaching 2,000.
Crick really has a distinctive rural character due to the village being surrounded with a 360 view of the rolling hillside.
Crick offers the perfect village lifestyle with it’s many walks that are right on your doorstop including Cracks Hill, Millennium Wood and of course, the beautiful Grand Union canal.
Not only that, but you are benefiting from not just a peaceful location but being right in the heart of the Village where you have a local Co-Op, Post Office, a choice of three Pubs (The Wheatsheaf, Royal Oak and The Red Lion). You also have The ex-service mans club (Crick Club) and a restaurant on the Canal – The Moorings.
Crick also has many activity groups for the family including, Cubs and Scouts, football, cricket, cycling, drama and a local history group. You can even go and see the guys down at ‘Sweat’, the local fitness centre which is just around the corner.

“I think it’s fair to say we are not your typical estate agency on several levels; especially when it comes to internet property marketing and customer service – we really do ‘work hard to give you extra’.
Our success in getting you the very best price, whether you are a landlord or seller, very much depends on how many buyers and tenants get to see the benefits of what your property has to offer.
I’ve learnt and understood that selling or letting a valuable property asset can feel daunting but I can assure you that the processes and proven marketing methods that we have in place here at Campbells will very much help your moving experience.”
