Living in Clifton
Clifton-upon-Dunsmore is just about 2 miles east from the centre of Rugby, close to the A5 and the borders of Warwickshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire.
The village was once home to Rugby Racecourse, which is still used annually for The Point to Point races – take a picnic – it’s a lovely day out with the family.
It offers excellent motorway access with the M6, M1 and A14 all nearby and the local railway station allows the commuter to get to Euston in as little as 58 minutes.
Clifton has a very safe and friendly community feel to it. The amenities here include The Bull Inn public house, St Mary’s Church, the Clifton general store, a beauticians, hairdressers, estate agents and the Townsend Memorial village hall which hosts many activities including mother and baby groups, fitness activities, bridge and one of Clare’s favourites, ‘Tuesday Teas‘ where many of the villagers get together for a chat and a very acceptable piece of cake!
There’s a playing field, tennis club with three courts and a park for the little ones. There are plenty of country walks on your doorstep including the towpath walks along the Oxford Canal.
The village has an elevated position and sits on a hill with the Oxford canal to the South and the River Avon to the North. Lots of great places to take a walk.
The village has it’s origins in pre-Roman times as an agricultural settlement and is recorded in the Domesday Book as having a church dedicated to St. Mary. That church no longer exists, though the present one (of the same name) dates back to the 13th century and hosts regular services including regular weddings and baptisms.
Clifton-upon-Dunsmore Village Profile
”“I concentrate on property within the Clifton upon Dunsmore area where I live, and also the surrounding Warwickshire and Northamptonshire villages – but please bear in mind I cover many areas besides. In this day and age we can advertise your property wherever you live.
I have a very practical and honest approach to selling and letting houses; I believe in providing a first-class customer service. To me it is a very personal exercise. If you give me the responsibility of selling your well-earned asset, I will take it very seriously.
I specialise in maximising the value of your property by making simple suggestions and offering easy solutions on how to present it at its best.”
