Our house in Weedon had been up for sale with another local estate agent for almost 6 months with a maximum of 1 viewing per month and no success! That is why, we decided to give Campbells a try after being recommended by a friend.

Right from the outset he has provided a friendly, professional and timely service. When we first met, he was the only one out of several agents I had round initially who had bothered to do his homework and inform me that there was a problem with my land title. His service to his potential customer took far more prominence than any delay this may cause to me putting my property on the market. We had not used Campbells before. They came highly recommended to us by Sam Dudgeon whose mother Margaret had worked at the Company some years ago.

I popped into their Daventry High Street branch, met Jane Edwards who arranged to visit the property in Woodford Halse for the purpose of valuation.

I recently engaged Amanda to sell my property in Newnham. Prior to selecting Amanda I also considered two other Estate Agents. The decision to engage Amanda was due to her enthusiasm, knowledge of the market and pro-active approach to marketing and pushing the property. The other Estate Agents were overly conservative and one of them was downright negative.

I am delighted on how Amanda presented the property and her professionalism at all times. It was ultimately a good choice as Amanda’s approach of offers over, secured an additional £20K to what was being positioned by one of the other prospective Estate Agents who described the offers over approach as “Gimmicky “.

From going on the market to accepting an offer took only two weeks during which time the house received 10 viewings. Once the offers had started to come in Amanda was very communicative and did a good job of maximising the offers. She was always available and approachable, even when standing on a train station during half term. If Amanda was not available to do the viewings personally her colleagues stepped up to the mark.

I would happily recommend Amanda to anyone selling their property and feel a bit sorry for those property owners in Newnham who are listing with other Estate Agents. I would say the service was polite, professional and pragmatic. Amanda has a good knowledge of the area and the market and is not afraid to be bullish with the positioning of the property.

My background is that I was senior partner in a substantial firm of solicitors in Hertfordshire and dealt with a great deal of conveyancing over a period of some 40 years often as one would expect under pressure as a busy practice. This meant that I was also dealing a great many estate agents over that period – and knew the good ones!

Why has dealing with Mark and his team at Campbells been so good?

They excelled in two particular ways – (a) speed/close attention and (b) what I could call amenability/courteousness.

(a) Speed and close attention was very good indeed and is so often needed in conveyancing where parties for instance in a chain are being slow or not helpful or just inefficient. Mark was ahead of the game in teasing out these sorts of things. We certainly had one or two difficulties and Mark was able to sort out solutions.

(b) Amenability and a courteous approach is important at it is so often necessary to gently and patiently talk to the parties to sort out problems and issues and bring matters to a conclusion. My sister, for whom I was acting as her attorney, had asked for Mark in the first place because when she bought the house a few years ago and he was acting for the vendor, she found him extremely helpful and approachable.

So in summary we were very satisfied with the service and had a very good experience with Mark and his team and would strongly recommend him to others in the future.

We chose Campbells based on these two steps:

Buying a house is the biggest purchase of one’s private life and one hopes for a level of professionalism to match that key time. Campbells certainly did; every call, every query was rapidly dealt with in a clear, concise and friendly manner.

As the purchaser, we do not directly pay Campbells, however, having sold our previous property and having a good idea of the charges likely to have been paid, then their fees would have been more than justified.

The public may not be aware that many ‘sales’ do not actually materialise and so these costs have to be borne by those sales that do succeed. In our case, we experienced two vendors who pulled out of agreed deals just before exchange. We had no apology and – worse for the agents – they had no fees.

The Campbells team kept us informed when solicitors, for many reasons, seemed so slow with any feedback. It is surprising that in this day and age that £5 of goods bought on line – prompts the seller to send the buyer more ‘day to day’ info than solicitors do with a house costing £1000s! Campbells filled that crucial information gap.

Before going to Campbells I was with another estate agent for 7 months – I got a few viewings but no offers.

I had heard about Campbells and in particular Clare, as she also lives in Clifton as do I. I thought I would give Clare a shot and see what she could do.

We looked at several estate agents in the area and had valuations from 4 of them, they varied quite a bit from 315K to 335K, I had seen Campbells Sold boards up in the area quite a lot so we thought we would give them a try, it was Amanda that made us choose Campbells as her approach and energy for selling our home was far greater than the other agents in the area, we both felt she was the one for the job and she felt we could achieve a higher sale price than we have been advised by others.

We only really dealt with Amanda but she was outstanding in all parts of the sale, we felt very well informed and at no point did we have any doubts.
