There are some village events that seem to capture everything people enjoy about living locally, and Badby Fayre looks set to do exactly that this September.
Taking place on Sunday 13th September 2026, the Fayre will bring music, stalls, games, food, classic cars and the popular Fun Dog Show to The Green in Badby, with plenty happening around the village throughout the afternoon.
This year also sees the return of the Badby Horticultural Show, bringing plants, produce and plenty of friendly competition back into the heart of the event.
If you fancy a relaxed Sunday afternoon out, this is certainly one to put in the diary.

The Green will be closed to through traffic for the afternoon, creating a central space for the stalls, entertainment and activities.

It has all the ingredients of a proper village fayre.
You can have a wander around the stalls, stop for something to eat, see what has been entered into the Horticultural Show and perhaps find yourself staying a little longer than planned.
The Badby Horticultural Show returns
One of the particularly nice things about this year’s Fayre is the return of the Badby Horticultural Show after a three year break.
The Badby and District Horticultural Society will have its own show tent on The Green, filled with plants and produce entered by local residents, with prizes to be awarded across the different classes.
The society has more than 50 members and describes its three guiding principles as inclusivity, fun and community, which feels very much in keeping with the spirit of the whole afternoon.
Whether you are a serious gardener or simply proud of something you have managed to grow at home, the show gives local people another reason to get involved.
Food, cakes and a proper village afternoon
A village fayre would not feel quite right without something good to eat.
There will be tea and homemade cakes available in Badby Village Hall, alongside a fish and chip van and ice cream on The Green.
Add in the craft stalls, produce, music and children’s activities and it becomes an easy afternoon to enjoy without needing much of a plan.
Simply turn up, have a wander and see what catches your eye.
A little bit of Badby tradition
Badby Fayre has a long history within the village.
Earlier versions of the event featured agricultural machinery, brass bands, raffles, games, horticultural displays and village teas, with money raised supporting St Mary’s Church.
The event has changed over the years, but its purpose has remained wonderfully simple: to bring the village together for an enjoyable afternoon while helping to raise funds for the upkeep of St Mary’s.
That sense of community is still very much at the heart of the 2026 Fayre.

Free parking will be available at the sports field off Chapel Lane, with signs in place on the day.
The Green itself will be closed to traffic during the afternoon, so it is worth following the event signs when you arrive rather than trying to park immediately beside the Fayre.
