Estate agency is, and always has been, a people business.

Yes, we sell houses. But behind every house is usually a reason for moving, a problem that needs solving, a decision that needs making or somebody who simply needs a bit of good, honest advice.

So, as Campbells continues to grow, we don’t just look for more estate agents.

We look for the right people.

And over the past year, three very different people have joined the Campbells team: David Ingham, Scarlett Jones and Teresa Franchini.

David has actually been with us for nearly a year now, while Scarlett and Teresa are much more recent arrivals.

All three bring something slightly different to Campbells, which is exactly how we like it.

Meet David 👋

David perhaps took the least conventional route into estate agency of the three.

Before joining Campbells, he spent nearly 20 years working in the emergency services. That career taught him to remain calm when situations become difficult, listen properly, pay attention to the details and make sensible decisions under pressure.

As it turns out, those are some pretty useful qualities for an estate agent too.

David actually knew Campbells first as a client. Having bought and sold several properties himself, he understood some of the frustrations that can come with moving house. He later chose Campbells to sell his own home and, after experiencing the way we worked first-hand, eventually joined us.

Since then, he has settled into the role remarkably quickly.

His calm, measured style has made him increasingly popular with clients, while he has also produced some fantastic results. David has already worked with sellers whose properties had struggled elsewhere, taking a fresh look at the price, presentation and marketing and helping generate renewed interest, viewings and, in some cases, multiple offers.

But perhaps the nicest way of explaining David isn’t for us to do it at all.

One of his recent clients, Melissa from Norton, said:

“Campbells was amazing to work with, very knowledgeable about the area and expert advice. David was lovely, kind and caring. Very professional and helpful in what was a difficult situation. Along with Sian they made things so much easier for me and had a tremendous amount of compassion and expert advice.”

Another client, Mia, recently told us:

“David and Sian were both amazing at Campbells. They were really attentive to our questions, always happy to help where they could and making a somewhat stressful situation feel easy. They guided us through everything we needed to know and made sure we were confident in every decision we made. Can’t recommend them enough. Thank you again.”

That probably sums David up better than we could.

Away from property, you’ll quite often find him out enjoying the Northamptonshire countryside with his three dogs, which perhaps explains why he’s also developed such an appreciation for the villages and communities we work in.

Meet Scarlett 🎾

Scarlett may be one of the newer faces at Campbells, but property has been around her for most of her life.

Her mum worked in estate agency for many years and her dad runs his own construction business, so Scarlett grew up around houses, property development and the work that goes into turning a building into somebody’s home.

She has joined us as an Associate Apprentice & Customer Service Advisor, combining her existing industry experience with a particularly strong focus on looking after our buyers and sellers.

A big part of Scarlett’s role is making sure that people who come into contact with Campbells aren’t simply added to a database and forgotten about.

She wants to understand where somebody is in their property journey, what they’re trying to achieve and what help or advice they might need next.

That might be a buyer who isn’t quite sure what they need to do before making an offer, somebody who’s thinking about selling but isn’t ready yet, or an existing client who simply needs somebody to pick up the phone and explain what happens next.

Scarlett describes her focus as making sure buyers and sellers receive the right advice for their own individual journey.

There is another side to Scarlett that tells you quite a lot about her personality too.

She has played tennis since she was four, competed at a high level and reached the LTA National Finals, travelling internationally to train and compete. It’s fair to say that determination, resilience and a competitive streak have been part of her life for a long time.

Away from work she loves travelling, cars and finding her next adventure, with a recent trip even taking her to the Nürburgring in Germany.

Meet Teresa 🌊

Teresa is another experienced pair of hands joining the Campbells team.

She spent many successful years working in recruitment before moving into estate agency in 2019. Both careers have something important in common: understanding people.

Teresa is a very good listener.

Rather than immediately telling somebody what she thinks they should do, she likes to understand the circumstances first, ask the right questions and then work out the best way forward.

And that is particularly important in her specialist role with us as our Empty Property Expert.

There are all sorts of reasons why somebody might suddenly find themselves responsible for an empty house.

It may have been inherited following a bereavement. A tenant may have moved out. A family member might have gone into care. Or somebody may simply own a property they no longer need.

Whatever the circumstances, an empty property can very quickly become another thing to worry about.

Teresa’s job is to help owners understand their options and put together the right plan to prepare, market and sell the property while aiming to achieve the best possible price with the least amount of inconvenience.

As Teresa puts it:

“I specialise in selling empty property, for the very highest price, with the least amount of inconvenience.”

Outside Campbells, Teresa isn’t particularly good at sitting still either.

She enjoys gardening, canoeing, open-water swimming and travelling, and shares her home with two cats who, we suspect, aren’t quite as enthusiastic about the canoeing.

Three Very Different People. One Campbells Approach.

David, Scarlett and Teresa haven’t come from identical backgrounds.

And that’s deliberate.

We don’t believe the best estate agency team is made up of people who all look, sound and work exactly the same way.

What matters to us is finding people who care about clients, communicate properly, give honest advice and want to do things properly.

As Jamie Campbell explains:

“We’re not trying to build a team of identical estate agents. Different clients need different things at different stages of their move. What matters is that the person sitting in front of them listens, cares and knows how to help. David, Scarlett and Teresa are very different characters, but they’ve all got that.”

David brings an extraordinary level of calmness and compassion.

Scarlett brings energy, determination and a genuine desire to make sure nobody gets lost in the process.

And Teresa brings experience, warmth and an ability to understand what can sometimes be quite complicated or sensitive circumstances.

Together, they’re part of the latest wave of extraordinary estate agents at Campbells.

Come And Say Hello 👋

So, if you’re thinking about moving, searching for a property, struggling to sell, dealing with an empty or inherited home, or you simply want some straightforward advice about what your next move might look like, come and talk to us.

You don’t need to have made a decision.

Sometimes the best place to start is simply with a conversation.

And with David, Scarlett, Teresa and the rest of the Campbells team, there is always somebody here who can help.
