If you love good food, discovering independent producers and having a wander around Daventry town centre, this is one to put in the diary.
The Daventry Foodies Market returns on Saturday 12th September 2026, bringing more than 80 stalls into the heart of the town for a day filled with street food, artisan produce, drinks, live entertainment and plenty for families to enjoy.
Running from 10am until 3pm, the market will stretch across High Street, Sheaf Street, Foundry Walk and Bowen Square, turning much of the town centre into one big food and drink destination for the day.
Best of all, entry is completely free, along with the family entertainment taking place throughout the event.
Event Details
Date: Saturday 12th September 2026
Time: 10am to 3pm
Location: Daventry Town Centre
Entry: Free
The market will be spread across:
High Street
Sheaf Street
Foundry Walk
Bowen Square
With so much happening across the town centre, this is less about visiting one particular spot and more about having a wander, seeing what catches your eye and, quite possibly, arriving home with considerably more food than you planned.
More than 80 stalls to explore
Food is very much the main attraction.
More than 80 stalls are expected throughout the town centre, with traders offering everything from hot street food and sweet treats to artisan produce, foodie gifts and kitchen accessories.
Previous and advertised stall categories include cheeses, cured meats, breads, pies, chutneys, jams, honey, cakes, brownies, chocolates and plenty more.
There will also be a range of hot food available if you would rather eat while you explore.
It is the sort of market where going with a completely open mind is probably the best approach.
You might head into town for lunch and come home with cheese, cake, something for dinner and a cupboard full of things you never knew you needed.
Plenty happening for families
There is more to the day than food.
The organisers have planned a range of free family entertainment throughout the town centre, including:
Face painting
Balloon modelling
Stilt walkers
Children’s food themed crafts
Live music and entertainment
That makes the market an easy option for families looking for something to do on a Saturday without having to plan a full day out.
You can wander through the stalls, grab something to eat, enjoy the entertainment and spend as much or as little time there as you like.
Take a free ride on a heritage bus
There is something else rather special happening in Daventry on the same day.
As part of Heritage Open Days, vintage heritage buses will be running from Market Square between 10am and 3pm.
Visitors can hop aboard for free journeys around Daventry and some of the surrounding villages, following routes inspired by the past.
There will also be historic vehicles on display in Market Square for visitors to look around and photograph.
The buses themselves are historic vehicles, so accessibility varies and many have steps at the entrance. Anyone travelling with a wheelchair, buggy or pram should check the latest information before planning a journey.
Food, live entertainment and a trip around Daventry on a vintage bus makes for quite a Saturday.
Travel Information
The market takes place throughout Daventry town centre, so you can join it from several different points.
The main areas are:
High Street
Sheaf Street
Foundry Walk
Bowen Square
The organisers have confirmed that free parking is available, although individual car park time limits and regulations still apply, so it is worth checking the signs wherever you park.
Some town centre roads will also be affected by closures for the event, so anyone driving into Daventry may want to allow a little extra time.
