If you fancy doing something creative in the final week before Christmas, this is a rather good alternative to another evening of wrapping presents.

The Festive Candle Making Workshop with Afternoon Tea takes place at Izzy Loops in Rugby on Friday 18th December 2026, giving you the chance to make your own candles in a relaxed workshop setting.

Running from 5pm to 7pm, the session includes candle-making tuition, materials, afternoon tea and fizz.

Event Details

Date: Friday 18th December 2026
Time: 5pm to 7pm
Venue: Izzy Loops, Rugby
Price: £69 per person
Afternoon tea: Included
Fizz: Included

What will you make?

During the workshop, guests will learn the basics of candle making while creating a selection of pieces to take home.

The official event listing includes:

A honey jar candle
Votive candles
Tea lights

You will be guided through the process, making this a good option even if you have never tried candle making before.

A festive creative evening

By mid-December, most people have had quite enough of rushing around shops.

This workshop offers something a little slower.

You can spend a couple of hours making something with your own hands, learning a new skill and enjoying the social side of the evening at the same time.

The candles you create could become part of your own Christmas decorations, or perhaps a particularly personal last-minute present.

Afternoon tea and fizz included

Once the making is under way, there is also food to look forward to.

The ticket includes afternoon tea and fizz, adding a relaxed social element to the workshop.

It makes the evening feel more like a festive experience than simply a craft class.

Interested in bell ringing?

You certainly do not need to understand all the terminology to appreciate hearing a church’s bells properly rung.

The Daventry Branch describes its meetings as friendly gatherings and welcomes people who are interested in finding out more about bell ringing.

The branch covers towers across the area, including places such as Byfield, Badby, Braunston, Daventry, Barby and Kilsby.

For somebody living around Byfield, Woodford Halse or the surrounding villages who has ever wondered what actually happens inside a bell tower, this could be a good introduction.

How to book

Tickets are £69 per person.

The workshop is listed through Rugby’s official What’s On calendar:

As this is a workshop with limited places, booking in advance is strongly recommended.
