If you fancy doing something creative with your Saturday, this one combines making, chatting and afternoon tea rather nicely.

The Jesmonite Making Workshop with Afternoon Tea takes place at Izzy Loops in Rugby on Saturday 17th October 2026, giving you the chance to create your own contemporary homeware pieces in a relaxed, beginner-friendly setting.

Running from 12pm to 2pm, the workshop includes all of the materials you need, plus afternoon tea and refreshments once your creations are setting.

No previous experience is needed.

What is Jesmonite?

Jesmonite is a versatile material often used to create decorative homeware and design pieces.

During the workshop, you will learn how to mix, pour and customise your own creations using different colours, pigments and finishes.

The session is designed to be completely beginner-friendly, so you do not need to arrive knowing what you are doing.

You will be guided through the process from start to finish.

What will you make?

Participants will create a selection of contemporary Jesmonite pieces to take home.

The organisers advertise items such as trays, coasters and other decorative pieces, with the October workshop also having a seasonal Halloween feel.

For the Halloween session, there may be the option to create pieces such as a pumpkin, ghost-inspired tealight holder or other autumnal designs.

The exact pieces can vary, but the idea is to leave with something you have made yourself.

Time for afternoon tea

Once the making is done and your Jesmonite pieces are setting, it is time for the other half of the afternoon.

Afternoon tea is included in the ticket price, with a mixture of sweet and savoury treats, refreshments and fizz.

That gives everyone a chance to relax and enjoy the social side of the workshop rather than simply making something and heading straight home.
