There is something rather lovely about a village high street filling up for Christmas.
On Friday 27th November 2026, the West Haddon Christmas Wassail returns for an evening of festive food, drink, crafts, gifts and community celebrations in the heart of the village.
Running from 6pm to 8pm, it is the sort of event that feels very much rooted in village life: local people coming together, independent stalls to browse and a proper start to the Christmas season.
Event Details
Date: Friday 27th November 2026
Time: 6pm to 8pm
Location: West Haddon High Street

A Christmas evening on the High Street
For two hours, West Haddon High Street becomes the focus of the village’s Christmas celebrations.
Previous Wassails have combined:
Festive food and drink
Craft stalls
Christmas gifts
Local organisations and community groups
Entertainment
Seasonal activities
It is a simple format, but that is really part of the appeal.
You can wander along the High Street, catch up with people you know, browse the stalls and enjoy something warm to eat or drink without needing to plan an entire evening around it.
Local makers, gifts and festive stalls
The stalls are an important part of the Wassail.
Previous events have featured a mixture of craft, gift and food traders, making it a useful place to pick up a few Christmas presents while supporting smaller independent businesses.
With the event falling just under a month before Christmas, it is also very well timed for anyone who has reached the stage where “I’ll sort that later” is beginning to look slightly optimistic.
The exact 2026 stallholder list may continue to develop as the event gets closer.
A proper village occasion
The West Haddon Wassail is not simply a shopping event.
Previous years have brought together local volunteers, village organisations, children’s groups and festive entertainment, creating an evening that feels very much about the community itself.
The organisers have also used proceeds from previous Wassails to support local groups.
That local involvement is what gives events like this their character.

No general ticketing or advance booking requirement has been published for the 2026 West Haddon Christmas Wassail.
