January 2020 was the busiest ever month on the UK’s largest property website Rightmove.co.uk

With visits topping 152 million, it seems people are now keen to take advantage of a more certain political outlook.

A positive outlook

Rightmove’s search also highlighted the fact that the number of sales agreed by estate agents in the East Midlands was up 8%, compared to the same month in 2019.

Whilst a recent report from Home.co.uk found that due to a shortage of properties available (for sale and rent), property prices are on the up and market conditions are improving over and above expectations.

“There is no doubt that a Brexit decision has made people feel more confident to move. At a local level, we’ve seen a significant rise in both valuations and viewings. Going forwards, we hope the next few months will continue to be as active, with a wave of new sellers looking to spring into action.”

“Whilst it’s too early to predict what will happen to property prices this year, we urge people not to rush into anything, but instead consult with local property experts and take their advice on the best plan of action. After all, buying and selling a property is one of the biggest financial decision of your life, so you need complete peace of mind knowing that you are in safe hands.”
